A Wedding / Anniversary Montage..

A wedding montage is normally a short 3 to 5 minute presentation using pictures and music only, or in combination with short video clips.  These are edited together in a fun and entertaining style and make a great addition to any wedding celebration.

An anniversary montage may include more pictures and home video footage of the couple and events in there lives together. These could include children and possibly grand children. This type of video would also be considered a family montage if the couple has been married for some time.

What kind of pictures?

The pictures could have been taken at any age from childhood thru the present. It would include a number of childhood pictures of each person as well as photos that were taken of the couple together while dating. You could include any "special" photos that were taken of events like the proposal, graduations, trips taken together etc.

How Many Pictures?

For a typical wedding montage, approximately 40 pictures are used and are edited to one song title. The length and number of songs and the number of pictures are flexible and are designed to meet the intended purpose.

How is it created?

One of the easiest ways to create a simple wedding montage is with a presentation software package like Power Point. This can be played directly from a lap top computer and projected to a screen or played on a monitor. Most of our wedding packages include having your created presentation converted to video and put on your wedding DVD.

Another option is for Oakwood Media Services to create one for you. To create a montage video, we scan each photograph individually and digitally size it to fit the TV screen. If needed, we will make brightness, contrast and color corrections. We will then add the music of your choice, and transitions between each picture. Of course we can use your digital pictures and home videos as well. You will participate heavily with the production of the montage. You will actually visit our office and work directly with an editor/engineer and together you create the video.

Where is it used?

A montage can be used in a number of places at a wedding:

  • Before the Ceremony as the quests arrive and are being seated.
  • During the Ceremony in place of a song.
  • At the reception it can be played in a loop so that it will repeat endlessly. This makes a good conversation piece.

How is it played?

The power point presentation can be played straight from the computer on an over head projection or to a monitor. The videos that Oakwood Media Services create can be played with a VHS or DVD player.

Montage videos are not only for weddings, but for any type of event such as birthdays, retirement parties, 25th, 50th, or any anniversary. A video montage can document the wedding couple as they have grown up and met, or be used to exemplify a company's or family's history.
